Courier Post

Courier Post is an international express courier service for both document and merchandise up to 200 kilograms, with one-stop customs clearance in the country of origin and country of destination, on-demand delivery (ODD) in which recipients can customize delivery options (time/place), and door-to-door express delivery in the country of destination. Customers can track their package 24/7 via Track & Trace application on mobile phone and www.thailandpost.co.th. The service is available at designated post offices [Click] in Bangkok and other provinces nationwide.

  • Accept document and merchandise items with 200 kg maximum weight with the longest side not over 200 cm. It depends on the destination countries [Click])
  • The item will be delivered to recipient at door step within 2-4 business days, excluding the posting date and time needed for customs clearance.
  • Complete customs clearance in both origin and destination countries is provided. Recipients in destination countries are responsible for duties, taxes and fees, if any.
  • Some liquid items and batteries are allowed for sending under the condition thereof. For more information, please contact postal officers before posting.
  • Free boxes are offered.
  • Customers can choose one out of six options for On-Demand Delivery (ODD) as follows: (The numbers of options depend on destination countries.)
    • Schedule your delivery
    • Receive a package with no signature release
    • Leave the package with neighbors
    • Collect directly from DHL service points
    • Alternate delivery address
    • Vacation hold, the delivery being arranged again later.
  • Door to Door delivery service
  • Packing service (Crate for export) is available with additional fee.
  • Insurance is offered, not exceeding 1,000 SDR. (SDR is Special Drawing Right. Please check the current rate at the post office)
  • Acceptance
    • According to Thailand Post’s regulations, prohibited items are as followings: live animal, body parts/corpse and human ashes, banknote/coin, a gemstone which cannot be identified its category/ cut gemstone, gold bullion, explosives or explosive precursors/extinguishing ball/artificial gun or any other weapons, illegal items/drugs/pornography, gas can, animal horn, sand, used machine, Thai flag/ items with a pattern of Thai flag, toxic substances, power bank/battery, dangerous /inflammable item, copied items, any prohibited items in accordance with the law and destination customs’ regulations.
    • Senders who wish to send restricted items (items that can only be sent under specified conditions of carriage such as wooden products, which have permit to export from the Royal Forest Department, Buddha images, religious objects, or objects of art, which have permit to export from the Fine Arts Department) must contact postal officers at the packaging service counter prior the sending. Senders may need to pay additional duty and taxes and process for the customs procedures or present the import licenses for those items.
    • Food products must be branded from the Food and Drug Administration (FDA) or a license from the Foods and Drugs Association (FDA) with standard packaging stating ingredients, manufacturer’s label, and clear expiration date etc.
    • Electronic devices can be shipped as follows:
      • The electronic devices with batteries can be accepted such as notebooks, tablets, mobile phones, wireless headphones, digital camera with chargers.
      • Senders can send a maximum of 2 devices with batteries in one parcel. The devices have to be turned off and packed separately.
      • Alkaline batteries and button cells have to be taken off the electronic devices before shipping.
      • Senders cannot send the product branded “VIVO”.
      • Stand-Alone batteries cannot be shipped such as mobile power banks, wireless chargers, and car batteries.
    • Non-Hazardous Liquids are as follows:
      • Non-Hazardous Liquids must be packed with standard packaging and attached a label in English.
      • Non-Hazardous Liquids, such as skin care products, serums, cosmetics which must be branded from the Food and Drug Administration (FDA) or a license from the Foods and Drugs Association (FDA), can be shipped.
    • Sending credit cards/ATM cards: the cards must be temporarily deactivated. Senders have to attach the bank confirmation form or customer confirmation letter, confirming that the cards have not yet been activated. The cards will be accepted as merchandise items only.
  • Item dimensions depend on destination countries which can be divided into 3 groups as follows: [Click for checking]
    • Group 1: Width 150 x Length 200 x Height150 cm.
    • Group 2: Width 120 x Length 120 x Height 120 cm.
    • Group 3: Width 60 x Length 60 x Height 60 cm.
  • Service Rate Charged: The rate will be calculated by using actual or volumetric weight whichever is higher in teams of weight will be charged for shipping. The formula for volumetric shipment is (Length x Width x Height) in centimeters, divided by 5,000.
  • Courier Post packaging and labeling
    • All items must be put in the envelope or box. If the contents are not documents, they should be put in a strong box only.
    • Full name and complete address of both sender and recipient shall be written clearly in English only on the deposit slip, along with postcode, telephone number and email address.
    • The recipient address must not be P.O. Box.
    • The contents should be specified individually with quantity, description, and value on both deposit slip and invoice. [Download Proforma Invoice]
    • The sender must sign the declaration form allowing the officer to examine the items without any claim.
  • Returned Item
    • In case of undeliverable item and the sender expects an item to be returned to the origin, the sender is required to remit import expense, which including import fee specified by Thailand Post, and other fees required by transport agent, such as duties and tax, customs formality fees, fuel surcharge, Emergency Situation Surcharge (ESS), 1,500 THB Overweight Surcharge for item over 70 kg (actual weight and volumetric weight), 2,300 THB Oversized Surcharge for item with maximum length over 120 cm.
    • In case the item has not been exported and the sender expects an item to be returned, the sender is required to remit the return fee for domestic EMS.

The item will be delivered to the recipient within 2-4 business days, excluding the posting date and time needed for customs clearance.

Compensation rate for Courier Post:

Remarks

  • In case of lost or totally damaged under postal custody, the sender shall be entitled to receive an indemnity, including the postage charges and special charges (if any).
  • In case of partially lost or partially damage under postal custody, the sender shall be entitled to receive an indemnity, excluding the postage charges and special charges (if any).
  • Indemnity shall be calculated according to the market price, of the lost or damaged of the same kind at the place and time at which the item was posted, but not exceed the maximum rate of indemnity of Thailand Post Announcement. Subject : Rate of indemnity of International Service
